Boden and Ward Stonemasons Ltd. have carried out many restoration projects on churches in the midlands and surrounding counties, both large and small contracts. We have long-term relationships with carpenters, glaziers and lead workers so we are able to offer a full restoration service as main contractors. We are also specialist sub-contractors.
We have long established relationships with many architects who specialise in Church Restoration. We are experienced main contractors and provide an excellent service with a sympathetic approach to restoration.
Once we have carried out a phase of work for a church, we are regularly asked back to carry out further work.
This spire is at Little Brington on the Althorp Estate in Northamptonshire . It was orginally a church, and the spire is all that remains of it now. This restoration involved stone work repairs and replacement as well as removal of vegetation and repointing.
There is no restriction on the areas that we will work in and we have been as far north as the Orkney Islands!
The stone for this rose window was lying on the Orkney coast in boulders. We had to collect the stone in 26 tonne loads - bring it back to our workshop in Northampton - saw and work the window and send it back up to Orkney to be fixed by our masons.
